LUMA + TOONS
With our persistent thirst for new challenges, and a healthy appetite for the bizarre, we launched Luma Toons in 2014.
It’s been an wild journey that’s taken everything we’ve learned over the years, and thrown it off the deep end. The characters can take any form, and worlds can bend your imagination, starting with our inaugural project.
Luma Toons, in an 18 month production partnership with Chocolate Liberation Front (CLF) and director/creator Luke Jurevicius, brought Figaro and all of his peculiar pals to life, over four-and-a half hours of feature quality animation.
Led by Luma Animation Director, Raphael Pimentel, and Art Director, Andrew Zink, the team collaborated with Luke to create four-and-a-half hours of feature quality animation.
“It feels like we created 39 short films,” says Figaro Pho creator Jurivicius. “Each one stands alone as a mini piece of art. It was the element of art and craft and a mutual love of filmmaking that allowed us to achieve what we accomplished this season.”
To catch the long list of Figaro’s phobias and the adventures they send him on check out Hulu and Netflix in the U.S. and ABC in Australia.
