Luma is looking for a full-time staff Accountant to oversee all accounting operations of a privately-held, global, multi-entity media company.  The role will report directly to the Finance & Operations Lead with a dotted line to the COO. You can:

  • Maintain general ledger across multiple entities, including AP / AR entries, JE uploads, inter-company cross charges, bank reconciliations and balance sheet management

  • Build and maintain rigs currently in production using internal tools
  • Assist in the creation of new rigs and rig components
  • Perform rig maintenance and fixes during production
  • Collaborate with the team to continue to develop internal rigging framework
  • Create tools with the Maya API and MEL scripts to enable Animators to create realistic animation

  • An extensive knowledge of anatomy and a thorough understanding of bio-mechanics, kinesiology for humanoid and animals
  • A thorough understanding of weighting and skinning and be able to work interactively with modelers to resolve challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to rig a variety of characters / objects in a realistic, non-cartoon manner
  • Scripting skills in Maya API, MEL scripting, Python and/or Perl

    Studio Cleaner / Day Porter

    We’re a production studio located in Downtown Santa Monica looking for a cleaner to make our building shine! Standard Hours: 40 hours per week with some overtime occasionally.

    Responsibilities

  • Dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming studio
  • Loading and unloading dishwasher, putting dishes away
  • Clearing and taking out trash
  • Cleaning all internal and external glass as required
  • Assisting with daily porter work in the kitchen such as restocking the refrigerator and other snack areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, offices, conferences rooms, and restrooms
  • Maintaining a constant stock take of cleaning equipment and products
  • Maintaining an orderly and hygienic working environment
  • General maintenance of outdoor spaces as well as all other common spaces throughout the studio
  • Completing other tasks as instructed by the Culture Manager

    Texture / Look Dev Artist

    The Texture/Look Dev Artist is responsible for the creation of textures and shaders for CG creatures, characters, hard-surface and organic models to the highest quality possible.

    You can:

  • Facilitate the creation of high quality displacement and normal texture maps prior to publishing to ensure consistency
  • Design and write Arnold and Katana shaders to create the look desired by the client or VFX Supervisor
  • Work closely with the Modeling and Lighting teams to ensure all textures/shaders are both technically and aesthetically sound
  • Generate and edit UVs
  • Research and build your own reference library as well as contribute to the studio’s reference database
  • You have:

  • At least five years of experience as a Texture Artist/Look Dev in a VFX Production environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer graphics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A mastery of Mari, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Maya, Arnold and Katana
  • Mudbox, Zbrush knowledge is a plus
  • A technical understanding of color space
  • A cultivated aesthetic sense and a keen eye for detail
  • A traditional arts background is preferred but not required
  • An inherent understanding of plate and image based lighting as well as full CG lightingBasic compositing skills in Nuke
  • TD skills are beneficial
