Animation Supervisor Raphael A. Pimentel headed to the SANDS 2018 event held in Swansea, Wales to share his knowledge of what it takes to make it as an animator in the film industry. Raphael shared his story of starting out at Luma over 10 years ago and the major characters he’s animated over the years, like Thanos, Spider-Man and Korg (just to name a few).

CG Supervisor Alex Cancado travelled to Manila in the Philipines for Graphika – the premiere creative conference that attracts over 20,000 attendees. Alex took the students through his recent work on Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. 

Both Alex and Raphael gave students invaluable reel advice as they begin to apply to studios and start their own career path in the competitive animation and visual effects industry.
