We had an epic year working on some of the biggest characters and films in the world alongside some of the most talented artists and people in the industry.

Here’s our year in visual effects at a glance:

Feature Films

Luma returned to the Guardians franchise for Vol 2 and created a striking CG environment for the end tag of the film, which included creating hundreds of animated humans inside blue and radiant gold pods and Adam Warlock’s giant gold-encrusted birthing cocoon. Read more

Luma teamed up with Fox to deliver nearly 200 shots for three sequences in the film. We created James Franco’s digi double, a creature-like spores virus that travels into a CG ear canal, cryopod graphics, and work for David’s daunting and cave-like laboratory. Read more

Luma worked on 11 sequences for Jon Watts’s Spider-Man: Homecoming completing just under 500 shots between the Los Angeles and Melbourne studios. Our work covers significant sequences in the film, including the big ATM fight scene featuring an alien gravity gun and the suburban chase sequence inspired by the famous backyard scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Luma delivered nearly 200 shots for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. Our team brought Taika Waititi’s soft-hearted rock warrior, Korg, to life across all the Sakaar sequences in the film. The team also animated Miek and Biff and created stunning set extensions. Read more
