We’re delighted to announce that Richard Sutherland has returned to Luma as our studio’s Process Engineer.
Richard worked as a network engineer and software developer for over a decade before returning to school to become a visual effects artist. He joined Luma as a junior FX artist and eventually became a CG Supervisor for feature films like True Grit, Prometheus and Deadpool. After eight years, which included a move to Australia to help open the Melbourne studio, Richard left Luma to work with Animal Logic as a CG Supervisor. At Animal, he worked on major blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Captain America: Civil War. He then moved to Rotor Studios as Head of Post Production overseeing work for clients such as Toyota and Lexus.
As Process Engineer at Luma, Richard will identify activities of high impact for our employees, partners and clients and design ways to improve the related processes. He will also manage the implementation of the resulting changes.
A little more about Richard:
His Netflix queue looks a little like: Star Trek: Discovery, Brooklyn 99 and Better Call Saul.
When not at work, you can find him scuba diving or stargazing.
